Functional Film Coatings

Tancoat

Tancoat is a range of functional film-coating polymers that control where and how a drug is released, from stomach-protective barriers to colon-targeted delivery. Grades are supplied as powders, granules, organic solutions or aqueous dispersions.

Applications
Enteric coating, moisture & taste masking, sustained-release formulations

Tancoat

01

Enteric coatings

Smooth, stable enteric coatings. Site-specific intestinal delivery can be tuned by combining Tancoat L and Tancoat S grades for a variable release profile.

GradeFormDissolution profileRecommended application
Tancoat L-100-55PowderDissolves at pH 5.5Smooth, stable enteric coating with fast dissolution in the upper bowel; drug release in the duodenum
Tancoat L-30 DAqueous dispersionDissolves at pH 5.5Drug release in the duodenum
Tancoat L-100PowderDissolves at pH 6.0Granulation of drug substances in powder form for controlled release; drug delivery in the jejunum
